TVS Apache RTR 200 Spied in India; Launch Imminent

A near-production ready unit of the TVS Apache RTR 200 has been spotted testing in and around Chennai, ahead of the bike's launch later this month. Although under heavy camouflage, the spy pics reveal several details of the Apache RTR 200.
The Apache RTR 200 is fitted with a single-piece, flat wide handlebar, all-digital instrument panel, split seats, front telescopic fork, rear monoshock suspension and an upswept exhaust. An oil cooler is visible in the front section of the engine, which is expected to be a four-stroke, single-cylinder, 200cc oil-cooled engine producing around 25bhp of power and clubbed to a six-speed gearbox.

Though nothing has been confirmed by TVS as yet, we are not ruling out the possibility of ABS being given as an option. The TVS Apache RTR 200 is expected to be priced around Rs. 1,30,000.
We expect a high quality product from TVS, and one which will be very important for the Hosur-based two wheeler manufacturer to break into the entry-level performance bike segment, which is dominated by KTM and Bajaj. It will be interesting to see what technological innovations TVS would have done on the Apache RTR 200, considering TVS's collaboration with BMW Motorrad. BMW's smallest capacity motorcycle, the BMW G310 R, is being developed in the same TVS facility where the RTR 200 is being manufactured.

Stay tuned to CarandBike.com to remain updated on the upcoming TVS Apache RTR 200.
