Upcoming Cars From Fiat India in 2015

At the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the then President and MD Fiat India, Nagesh Basavanahalli, announced that they will bring 4 new cars to India. Well, India was no stranger to the Linea and the Punto (which got the much needed facelift) but the Avventura was the game changer for them.
2015, for Fiat India, is not just going to be about cars but also about brands and this will see them propel themselves to catering to a niche audience as well. The company has already ramped up its dealership network to 132 and more are in the offing to cater to the cars that will eventually make it here. We take a look at what to look forward to from the Fiat stable in 2015. The company has also said that they will be launching a new car every 2 months and we already know which three cars we will get to see so here's a list of what to expect.
1) Abarth 595 Competizione
This will be the first car to hit the scene. Abarth has taken the Fiat 500 and turned it into a mini monster of sorts. Powering the 595 is a 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine with an IHI RHF3-P turbocharger, producing 158bhp.

It's a pocket rocket in the real sense of the term and gets a dose of all the stuff that screams sporty. So Sabelt race seats, machined alloy pedals, a flat-bottomed steering et al. It is quite the looker and you cannot help but notice the car when its out on the road. The car will rival the likes of the MINI Cooper and we will see it being launched at a price north of Rs. 30 lakh.
2) Punto Evo Abarth

Well, we've spoken at length about this and we will see the car soon. Fiat already said that the Abarth engine will go into an Indian-made car and it will be the Punto. We will see the 1.4-litre Multi-Air engine being tuned to bring out the fun side of the Punto. Capable of churning out 163bhp, the Punto Evo Abarth will clearly become the hottest hatch there is in India. The engine will be imported, of course but the Punto will be designed and tuned to help it take on the additional power on tap.
3) Avventura Abarth

If Abarth has tuned the Punto Evo, it won't be difficult to make a go faster version of the Avventura and in fact, one which caters to the growing audience of auto enthusiasts in the country. The Avventura Abarth will certainly be the first compact SUV in the country to receive a bump in power and this will make it even more attractive. This pumped-up version of the Avventura will be powered by a 1.4-litre T-Jet MultiAir 4 cylinder petrol engine that delivers 133 bhp, a significant bump from the current 89bhp.
