Volkswagen hasn't really been able to cash in on the sales when it comes to their products and the Polo is a refreshing addition. The German manufacturer is looking at bringing new products to India, and we will most likely also see an expansion at the company's plant in Pune.
The Polo's localisation content for now stands at 65 - 70%, and the people at Volkswagen want to take this figure up to at least 85 - 90%. Though there are no concrete plans, Volkswagen is looking at producing the engines in India as well. That said, VW seems content with its progress for the time being. We will be sure to let you know about their future plans, as soon as we get a word. Till then, stay tuned!
