Volvo Cars To Offer Preferential Fast Charging Prices For Customers At Ionity Charging Stations

- Volvo cars is offering discounted charging rates for customers at Ionity
- From July 1, Volvo cars customers will pay a reduced rate of 30 cent/kWh
- They will be able to charge at all Ionity stations across Europe
Volvo Cars has secured discounted charging tariffs for its customers of electric cars at the IONITY network. Through a new collaboration with charging point platform Plugsurfing, the automaker will provide its customers with a heavily reduced charging price at Ionity charging points throughout Europe. From July 1, 2021, pure electric Volvo cars customers will pay 35 cents per kWh at all Ionity public fast-charging stations across 24 European countries, during the first 12 months of ownership of a pure electric Volvo car.

The preferential fast charging prices will apply to new Volvo customers for the first twelve months of vehicle ownership
Olivier Loedel, head of electrification ecosystem at Volvo Cars said, "We are excited to offer our customers one of the most competitive prices for charging at Ionity, one of Europe's largest public fast charging networks. This collaboration is a first step in our global ambition to help our customers of Recharge cars travel quickly at a much lower charging cost, wherever they are."
Moreover, the automaker will soon make its refreshed smartphone app - Volvo Cars app as one consolidated digital charging platform to offer its customers a seamless charging experience. The 'Volvo Cars' app is an updated version of the 'Volvo on Call' app that is designed to offer its customers a convenient and continuously updated platform with access to various functionalities and services. It will integrate functionalities including navigation to charging stations, remote control of charging, charging notifications and payments, making every step of charging easier and a trip with an electric Volvo car more convenient than ever before.

Olivier Loedel further said, "Volvo Cars aims to change the current fragmented public charging landscape into an all-in experience that is convenient and hassle-free. We want to achieve this by providing an integrated digital charging platform for our customers, and easy access to the largest charging networks globally."
