Your Checklist for Road Travel During These Corona Times

- Plan ahead instead of improvising to avoid any delays.
Just when we thought that the menace of COVID-19 was finally subsiding came the Omicron variant that started spreading like wildfire. In such times, one can't be careful enough when they are roaming outside. This is especially true for those who are planning a road trip to a popular destination. If you've got both doses of the vaccine, you can indeed head out without any worries, however, there is a checklist that you must follow in order to stay away from getting infected.
Carry extra masks

Your bag has plenty of empty space to include a couple of additional masks so don't be miserly about them. Losing your mask is a pretty common phenomenon. In such situations, the time you could end up wasting a lot of time searching for it. And it's not just you. Your extra masks could also help out the people who are travelling with you.
Opt for contactless payments
Try to make all your payments using UPI apps. When you're travelling, it's always a good option to use them instead of transacting with cash or card since that adds a risk of getting infected through contact. A majority of small, medium and large businesses accept contactless payments so it would never be inconvenient for you to take the contactless route. An added tip, top up your FASTag before you leave for your trip.
Carry snacks

Sure, you'll be eating out at restaurants when you're on your trip. But it doesn't hurt to keep a few snacks handy so you don't have to leave your hotel room to satisfy those random hunger pangs.
Carry test kits
If you start feeling uneasy during your trip, there may be a possibility that you've contracted COVID. You can easily test yourself using home COVID tests that you can order from e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart.
Pack smartly

When you're doing your packing, do not forget to carry handy detergent sachets and bottles of disinfectants, since it is more important than ever to stay clean. Extra sanitiser is a no brainer. And also take washable sandals and slippers with you since they can be quickly disinfected.
Separate water bottles
No matter who you're travelling with, it is always advised to have your own water bottles instead of sharing them, which may increase the risk of the spread of COVID-19. Even if you buy water bottles throughout the day, make sure to leave marks on them denoting which one is yours. You can remove the sticker of one of them, crumple one of them, etc.
Be mindful of what you touch
Touching surfaces has become incredibly risky during these times. You just have to get it ingrained in your mind that you need to come in contact with as few surfaces as possible throughout the day. Whenever you do touch common surfaces, use sanitiser immediately, or better yet, wash your hands thoroughly with handwash. You can also carry a can of disinfectant spray with you so you can spray it on surfaces before touching them.

These simple things can certainly help you travel safely.
