2014 Volkswagen Polo Facelift - Everything You Want to Know

Volkswagen India is now gearing up to roll out its next product, the updated Polo. Set to be launched in July, the new Polo facelift is expected to receive both, cosmetic and mechanical upgrades.
Design
Even though the updated Polo shares quite a few cosmetic similarities with the existing version, features like a new front bumper with redesigned fog lights, a new rear bumper, and taillights among other changes will help lend it a refreshed look.
Engine Options
The Polo facelift's biggest change will be under its hood. It will hopefully get a new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel motor, which is essentially the downsized version of the existing 1.6-litre diesel unit that powers the Polo GT TDI. The power output and torque figures will most likely remain the same as that of the 1.6-litre diesel engine. Given the smaller diesel engine, the updated Polo will thus be able to enjoy excise duty benefits given to sub 4-metre cars with petrol and diesel engines with a capacity below or equal to 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre, respectively.
Rumour also has it that the company might discontinue the 1.2-litre diesel engine on the Polo, but we honestly don't think that Volkswagen will risk discontinuing its top-selling model.
Price
While the regular petrol and diesel versions of the Polo are expected to be accompanied by the same price tags, Volkswagen might cut down the Polo GT TDI's price because of the excise duty benefits.
