450 Outlets for Mahindra First Choice in 3 Years
In a bid to consolidate its presence in the Rs 14,000 crore car servicing industry, Mahindra First Choice Services, the multi-brand car service division of the Mahindra Group, said it plans to set up 450 outlets in the country in next three years.
The firm entered the division in 2009 and has opened 28 company-owned outlets across the country. They plan to open 450 outlets, including franchise and company-owned outlets in three years, Mahindra First Choice Services' Chief Executive Officer Y V S Vijay Kumar said.
"We are starting our very first franchise today. We have very big plans. In the next three years our target is to reach 400 plus. By end of this financial year we are planning to reach over 100 (outlets)", Kumar told reporters here.
Of the proposed 450 outlets, 400 would be operated under franchise models while 50 would be company-owned.
Noting that the car services industry was valued at Rs 14,000 crore, he said, "We are planning to have a 10 per cent market share".
To serve franchise outlets, the company plans to have 20 clusters. These clusters would be similar to a warehouse that would have spare-parts and other facilities to serve the outlets.
Mahindra First Choice Services registered revenue of Rs 30 crore in 2013-14 and has set a target of Rs 100 crore in this fiscal, he added.
