BMW India set to launch M6 Gran Coupe next month

Showcased at the recently concluded 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe will be launched in the first week of April. The vehicle made its debut at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. For people, who are not in the know, the M6 Gran Coupe is the performance-oriented version of the 6 Series Gran Coupe, which is already available in India. To be brought as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), the vehicle is expected to be priced around Rs 1.50 crore.
Powering the M6 Gran Coupe is a 4.4-itre V8 engine with M TwinPower turbo technology, seven-speed M double clutch transmission with Drivelogic and active M differential. The similar engine also powers the M5. This powertrain churns out a maximum power output of 560bhp, while yielding 680Nm of peak torque. The car does 0-100kmph in mere 4.2 seconds, and has an electronically limited top-speed of 250km/h.
In terms of styling, the M6 Gran Coupe features a sporty body kit, comprising of 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke design, carbon fibre- reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof, prominently flared wheel arches and revised bumpers. Adding more to the sportiness is the M signature - twin exhaust tailpipes positioned on the outer edges of the rear apron, and a diffuser made from CFRP.
Closest competitors for the M6 Gran Coupe in India will be Audi RS7.
