BMW unveils the M4 Coupe DTM Safety car

BMW has unveiled their new M4 Coupe DTM safety car. We'd told you about BMW's safety car for the MotoGP when it was first revealed on the company's Facebook page and now here's one for DTM racing. This M4 Coupe DTM safety car is based on the road-going model and has been equipped with a BMW M Performance parts.
This includes a lot of things made of carbon fibre like the front splitter, mirror caps, rear spoiler and rear diffuser. It gets a black grille, aerodynamic side skirts and a titanium exhaust system. The model also has DTM livery, a KW coilover suspension and emergency lights on the roof.
Inside it receives Recaro racing seats, Schroth harnesses and carbon fibre trim. Under the hood, just like the standard model, the DTM safety car comes equipped with a 3.0-litre TwinPower turbo six-cylinder engine that develops 429bhp and 550 Nm of torque.
Mated to an M double-clutch transmission the M4 safety car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. Jens Marquardt, BMW Motorsport director said, "Having decided to start the 2014 DTM season with a new challenger, in the form of the BMW M4 DTM, it was a logical step to have BMW M GmbH put together a BMW M4 Coupe DTM Safety Car."
