Bookings for 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis open; launch by May end

Toyota dealers across India have started taking orders for the 2014 Corolla Altis facelift - which is expected to be launched by the end of May, with deliveries starting from the first week of June - for a sum of Rs. 50,000. Toyota had unveiled the refreshed Corolla Altis at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February.
The new Corolla Altis has received design changes both inside and out, and has become more feature-rich now. Also, the car is going to be larger than the outgoing model. The car's wheelbase, at 2700mm, is now 100mm longer which will ensure more space to occupants. In terms of equipment, the car now has push-button start, LED headlamps, rain sensing wipers, paddle shifters, keyless entry, 7.1-inches touch-screen infotainment system, reverse camera with sensor and several other features.
Mechanically, there will be no changes made to the car. It will continue to come with the old 1.8-litre dual VVT-I petrol and 1.4-litre D-4D diesel engines capable of churning out 138bhp and 87bhp, respectively. The petrol engine will come with an option of either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed CVT gearbox. The diesel model will be made available only with a six-speed manual transmission gearbox.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor had stopped the production of old Corolla Altis in January this year.
