We've seen Mercedes-Benz's replacement for the CL-Class, the new S-Class Coupe, at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and now there are details emerging (with a few shots) of the high-performance AMG version which will kick some ass when it will be unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
Officially called as the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Coupe, this is the cousin to the S63 AMG sedan. The S63 AMG Coupe will come with a 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard in the U.S, while the other markets will see a rear-wheel-drive version as standard.
The S63 AMG coupe will be powered by the twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 which punches out a massive 585bhp and 900Nm of torque, which is the most power we've seen coming out of this engine till date.
The engine comes mated to AMG's SpeedShift MCT 7-speed automatic gearbox and this is what propels it from 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 305km/h.
To assist handling in the S63 AMG, Mercedes-Benz has equipped it with a full AIRMATIC air-suspension system with adaptive dampers, stiff anti-roll bars, and a custom frame at the rear axle to help further improve stiffness.
You can't expect anything short of luxury inside the S 63 AMG Coupe and there is the instrument panel which seamlessly transitions into the doors in a wraparound design. There are the AMG bucket seats, then the embossed AMG logo on the center arm rest, the typical three-spoke sports steering wheel, and AMG instrument cluster with two animated round dials and the beautiful Nappa leather.
The S63 AMG Coupe looks fantastic and no one doubts that, so if money is not one of your problems, I would bet on keeping an eye on this beast and grab one the first opportunity one gets.
