Skoda Auto to Revamp Dealer Outlets Throughout India

Skoda Auto India has undertaken an exercise to give similar appearance to all outlets of its dealers across the country, a top official said.
The company sells mid-size sedan Rapid, premium sedan Octavia, luxury sedan Superb and premium SUV Yeti in the Indian market. It has 76 dealers across the country.
"We are doing the revamping exercise based on customer feedback. Irrespective of different locations, the outlet will be the same in appearance. It may be either in Mumbai or in Chennai, the outlet will be similar," Skoda Auto India Regional Sales Manager (South and West), Mahesh Tiwari told PTI after unveiling the 'Zeal' Edition across all its models.
The Zeal edition, to be available at Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 higher than the existing models, comes as an optional package. It comes with additional features like leather seats, black dashboard, rear camera, navigation device.
Among the total sales, compact sedan Rapid has been the major volume driver for Skoda, contributing 75 per cent of total sales.
Stating that the company has sold 2.04 lakh units of all models since November 2001, he said the company plans to sell 20 per cent more in 2015 compared to last year. "Last year (calendar year) we sold about 15,500 units. This year we expect it to be 20 per cent more", he said.
To a query, he said South India contributes 33 per cent of the total sales followed by West zone 31 per cent, North 30 per cent and remaining from the East.
