2019 BMW X5 Spotted Testing Again

We already reported that BMW is working round the clock to update the BMW X5 that was recently spotted testing with minimum camouflage. The Bavarian carmaker is updating most of its models across its portfolio including the SUVs. While the new generation X3 and X4 made public debut earlier this year, the new generation X5 will most likely come by early next year. Code-named G05, the new X5 will be based around the innovative Cluster Architecture (CLAR) which is lighter, stiffer and more flexible than today's platform. BMW will use the CLAR platform on all if its future models upward from the 3-series and X3. The new BMW X5 will be built at the Spartanburg factory in North Carolina, USA.

Visually, the new generation BMW X5 will be similar to the outgoing model. The dimensions and many of the cosmetic changes will be similar to its predecessor, but expect the new platform to add few more inches inside. Up front, the new BMW X5 gets bigger in every term. Right from the huge radiator grille to the more pronounced kidney grille, the new generation BMW will also sport bigger headlamps and wider air intakes giving it a more aggressive look. At rear, the new generation X5 will get new tail lamps along with single large cluster at each side with LED technology. The company will continue with the distinctive light signature.

Under the hood, the new BMW X5 will continue with the same engine options in both petrol and diesel iteration. However, the folks over at BMW will certainly tune the performance of the car to match the likes of Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLS or even the Volvo XC90. Reports also suggest that BMW will introduce a plug-in hybrid version for the X5 at a later stage.
