2019 Mercedes-Benz V-Class Facelift Unveiled

Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the facelifted version of the 2019 V-Class multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). Equipped with revised design and styling along with a host of new and updated features, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz V-Class facelift will go on sales in Europe from March, for a starting price in Germany of 36,990 euros (over Rs. 30 lakh). The V-Class is receiving a facelift in Europe after almost five years, but, interestingly, it was just recently that Mercedes-Benz India launched the pre-facelifted model in India.

2019 Mercedes-Benz V-Class Facelift gets 19-inch 10-spoke light-alloy wheels and LED taillamps
Visually, the new 2019 Mercedes-Benz V-Class Facelift comes with an updated face with a sleeker set of headlamps, a revised grille, and a new bumper with a massive air intake with C-shaped chrome inserts on either end. The profile of the MPV looks quite identical to the pre-facelift model save for the new alloy wheels, a set of black-painted 19-inch 10-spoke light-alloy wheels with a high-sheen finish. The lower variants get either 17- or 18-inch set in 5-twin-spoke design. The rear section, however, comes with an identical design, but now features a pair of revised LED taillamps. Mercedes also offers an AMG version for the 2019 V-Class which will come with AMG-style kit with a new diamond-style grille with chrome pins.

Major changes have been made to the cabin of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz V-Class. The V-Class comes with new air vents in a sportier turbine look as well as new dials in the instrument cluster. This has made the facelifted model a bit more comfortable for the driver. The MPV also gets new upholstery draped in Nappa Leather, in either black or silk beige colour options. The trim elements in ebony wood, carbon fibre and brushed aluminium looks remain. The luxury seats for the first row of seats offer a fully reclining function, back massage and climatisation (standard with the Exclusive line).

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz V-Class also comes with a campers package
The 2019 V-Class also comes with a campers package, the Marco Polo. The compact Marco Polo and Marco Polo HORIZON campers and leisure vehicles also feature the new front-end design, the new paint colours and light-alloy wheels, as well as the new air vents and upholsteries.
Under the hood, the MPV comes with a new four-cylinder OM 654 engine. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class comes in two powertrain options - V 250 d and V 300 d, both get 2.0-litre motors. The former comes with a 2.0-litre engine that makes close to 190 bhp and 440 Nm while the latter churns out about 239 bhp and develops 500 Nm. In the acceleration phase, the V 300 d can briefly deliver an additional 30 Nm of torque ("over torque") in addition to its 500 Nm of torque. The V 300 d accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 220 km/h. Both come mated to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.
As the V-Class is globally going on sale only from March, it is likely that was the reason for bringing the pre-facelift version to India, considering the fact that it would have take Mercedes at least a few more months to ready an India-spec model. This would mean the company would have lost sales for this year. As for India launch, we expect the car will come as per the regular life cycle of any product, possibly next year.
