The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno is one of the highly anticipated launches of 2022 and the updated model is going to get severeal changes from its predecessor. The carmaker had teased the 2022 Baleno earlier this week giving us a brief idea of its design and now it has released a new teaser showing the brand new touchscreen infotainment system the premium hatchback will come with. In fact, a major focus this time around is on upgrading the connectivity and in-car infotainment experience of the Baleno. The new SmartPlay Pro Plus system will get a new interface and sharper graphics.
Maruti Suzuki has designed a standalone and bigger SmartPlay Pro touchscreen unit for the new Baleno. Going with what we saw in the teaser video, the new touchscreen will get an all-new interface featuring much sharper and crisper graphics. It is also expected to get connected car features along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and we expect Maruti to also offer in-built navigation system in the new SmartPlay Pro Plus. Moreover, also expect the new Baleno to get a premium sound system for an immersive sound experience, as shown in the new teaser. We also expect new Maruti models like the next-gen Vitara Brezza and the new compact SUV among others to come equipped with the same 9-inch SmartPlay Pro Plus infotainment touchscreen.

The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Baleno will go on sale on Feb 23.
Essentially, the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno is an extensively upgraded version rather than a new-gen model as the platform and engine remain the same. The new 2022 Baleno is expected to come with a heavily updated cabin as well, possibly featuring an updated instrument console and more upmarket fit and finish. Expect creature comforts like automatic headlamps and auto climate control among others. That said, what we know for sure is that the cabin will come with a segment-first Heads-Up Display (HUD) unit.

The former gets the option of both a five-speed manual and an automatic CVT unit, while the more powerful engine, which also gets the mild-hybrid system comes with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, rumour has it that the new Baleno could get a six-speed torque converter unit that will replace the CVT gearbox.
