Auto Expo 2018: All-New Aprilia RS 150 and Tuono 150 Showcased

- Both Aprilia RS 150 and Tuono 150 get a new 150 cc engine
- The 150 cc engine is liquid-cooled, fuel-injected and makes 18 bhp, 14 Nm
- The bikes are expected to be launched in India in 2019
Aprilia India has unveiled two new entrants for highly competitive 150-200 cc performance segment with the new RS 150 and Tuono 150. Yes, these are the younger cousins of the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer's highly acclaimed RSV4 and the Tuono V4. Both the bikes are all-new models and are expected to be launched in India by 2019. While the new full-faired Aprilia RS 150 will compete with the likes of the newly launched Yamaha R15 V3 and the KTM RC 200, its naked sibling, the Tuono 150 will compete with the likes of the Apache RTR 200 4V, Bajaj NS 200 and even the KTM 200 Duke.

Aprilia RS 150 comes with nice styling, premium features and equipment
The unveiling of both the bikes - the Aprilia RS 150 and the Tuono 150 - was a complete surprise to us at the Auto Expo 2018. While the brand already has the SR 150 and the newly launched SR 125 in the Indian market, these are the first low-displacement motorcycles from Aprilia India and something that we were waiting for a long time.

Aprilia Tuono 150 comes with slightly up-right riding position with same features as RS 150
Visually both the Aprilia RS 150 and the Tuono 150 look like scaled down versions of their respective litre-class motorcycles, only with less flare but equally good looks. The bikes come with Aprilia's signature silver, black, red combination colour scheme with bold graphics. These pre-production models come with a host of premium features as well like - up-side-down (USD) front forks, adjustable monoshocks at the rear, dual channel ABS from Bosch, slipper clutch and even an optional quick shifter as well.
Powering the two motorcycles is a new fairly advanced 150 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine the gets liquid-cooling and makes about 18 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, with as we mentioned earlier, an option quick shifter, which is a segment-first feature.
