Auto Sales February 2022: Volkswagen India Sales Soar By 84%

Volkswagen India registered a growth of 84 per cent in February 2022. The company sold a total of 4028 units in the month and according to the company, this burst of growth is all thanks to the response to the Taigun SUV. The company launched the Taigun in September last year at Rs. 10.50 lakh and by January 2022, the company had already received 20,000 bookings for the car. The numbers in February this year, are a big push for the company as it is its strongest performance in the last 4 years.

Commenting on the results, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, "It is the love and endorsement by customers for Volkswagen products such as the Taigun that has driven this strong result. We are confident the soon to be unveiled Volkswagen Virtus will receive a similar appreciation and acceptance by our customers."

2022 too looks very promising for the company as it is all set to launch the new compact sedan- Virtus, which will again be a big push when it comes to sales. The car will make its global premiere on March 8, 2022 and the launch will also happen soon. With both the Taigun and the Virtus in its arsenal, VW India will look to push sales numbers up further this year.
