Key Highlights

Rohit Shetty is well known for his action drama films. Whenever we watch his movies, there are full action-packed scenes with cars flying in the air and massive explosions on the screen. All Rohit Shetty films have larger-than-life action sequences with numerous cars, much to the thrill of the audience.

But did you know that there are two films in which Rohit Shetty decided to spare some cars? Just sounds wrong, doesn't it? Well, Sunday and Golmaal Again are two films in which no cars were blown up. Sunday was released in 2008 and Golmaal Again was released in 2017.

In the 2017 film Golmaal Again, Rohit Shetty even used one of his own cars, a Ford Mustang GT in one of the car chases. This car is the top model in the Mustang line-up and costs more than Rs. 74 lakh in India.

This was only one of the sports cars used in this film; the others included Porsches and Audis. This could explain why he chose to not blow up any of the cars. Rohit Shetty publicly stated before the release of this film that there will not be any scenes of cars blowing up in this film. He explained his decision by saying people don't focus on other aspects on his films apart from the scenes with cars blowing up.

However, the film still has a couple of neat car stunts performed by Ajay Devgn, but unlike most Rohit Shetty films, all cars in this movie remain intact at the end of the stunt.

The film Sunday was a comedy-thriller that released in 2009. This was one of Rohit Shetty's earliest films and the budget would not have permitted the use of cars that could be blown up. In fact, the only car used in this film was a red Ambassador cab with Arshad Warsi playing the role of the cab driver.

The iconic Ambassador car costs anywhere between Rs. 4 to 6 lakh. It has been banned from being sold as a taxi since 2011 and production ended in 2014. However, it is still the preferred choice of politicians and bureaucrats.

However, barring these two movies, it has been mostly fireworks all along the way!

Rohit Shetty used a Tata Safari Storme in Singham Returns. Apart from Safari Storme, there were multiple cars featured in this film including Sumo, Sumo Grande, Aria, and the Nano.
