British Brand White Motorcycle Concepts Targets Land Speed Record

- The bike's V-Air ultra low-drag system channels air through the bike
- The WMC250EV is claimed to have speed in excess of 400 kmph
- The bike has been conceived by Rob White, the company's CEO and founder
A new British brand has revealed a radical new machine which will attempt to set new electric land speed records over the next year, both in the UK and at the world stage. The company, called White Motorcycle Concepts, has showcased the WMC250EV prototype machine, a bike the company has been working on for over two years. The bike is said to have ground-breaking aerodynamics and two-wheel drive. The bike has been conceived by the company's founder and CEO Rob White, and he himself will pilot the machine when he attempts to break both the British and world electric land speed records over the next 12 months.

The V-Air system uses a large duct at the centre of the bike which channels air through the bike, rather than around it
The prototype motorcycle is capable of speeds exceeding 400 kmph, and features three disruptive technologies including an ultra-low drag system called V-Air. This innovative feature uses a large duct at the centre of the bike which forces air through the vehicle, rather than around it. According to White Motorcycle Concepts, V-Air reduces the WMC250EV's aerodynamic resistance by as much as 70 per cent compared to that of the market-leading high performance road bike. These, WMC states, are according to the results of wind-tunnel testing.

The WMC250EV will be used to target new British electric land speed record this year, followed by world eletric land speed records at Bolivia in 2022
White, who has more than 25 years' experience of world championship level motorsport, including Formula 1 and Le Mans, initially conceived his idea for V-Air six years ago, but it was exposure to Formula 1 packaging and sports car aerodynamics that gave him the confidence to pursue it seriously. The WMC250EV intends to go beyond 400 kmph, shattering the 367 kmph record set by Max Biaggi on the Voxan Wattman last year. The company is targeting a speed of 320 kmph initially and a British record with four electric motors, two powering the rear wheel and two in the front hub offering a total power of 100 kW (134 bhp). In 2022, the power will be increased for the world record attempt at the Bolivia salt flats.
