Car Sales January 2021: Hyundai India Registers 24% Y-o-Y Growth In The Domestic Market

- In January 2021 Hyundai sold 52,005 units in the domestic market
- The carmaker's cumulative sales (domestic + export) stood at 60,105 units
- Hyundai's total exports declined by 19 per cent to 8100 units in Jan 2021
Hyundai Motor India has released the monthly sales number for January 2021, and last month the company sold a total of 52,005 units in India. The company has registered a 23.8 per cent growth in the domestic market compared to 42,002 cars sold in January 2020. At the same time, compared to 47,400 units sold in December 2020, Hyundai saw a Month on Month (M-O-M) growth of 10 per cent. On the other hand, the company's export numbers took a big hit, with Hyundai's total exports standing at 8100 units, a decline of 19 per cent, compared to the 10,000 units exported in January 2020. At the same time, compared to 19,350 units exported in December 2020, the company saw a decline of 58 per cent in M-O-M exports.

The company's export numbers took a big hit at 8100 units, a decline of 19 per cent compared to the 10,000 units Hyundai exported in January 2020
The company's cumulative sales for January 2021, domestic and exports combined, stood at 60,105, a good 15.6 per cent growth compared to 52,002 vehicles sold during the same month last year. However, compared to December 2020, which the company's cumulative sales stood at 66,750 units, the company saw a M-o-M decline of 10 per cent.

Commenting on the January 2021 sales performance, Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Ltd.
