Centre Sanctions Rs. 100 Crore To Restore Roads Affected By Rains In Konkan, Western Maharashtra

- Rs.100 cr sanctioned to restore rain-affected roads in Konkan, Western MH
- Gadkari said Rs. 52 crore will be spent on temporary restoration work
- And remaining amount is allocated for permanent restoration
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently said that the Indian government has sanctioned Rs. 100 crore to restore the roads affected by unprecedented rains in Konkan and Western Maharashtra, as reported by PTI. The Road Transport and Highways Minister took on Twitter to announce the same wherein he stated that Rs. 52 crore has been allocated for temporary restoration while the remaining Rs. 48 crore will be employed in permanent restoration.

In a series of tweets, the minister said, "Immediate steps have been taken up to restore the roads affected by unprecedented rains in Konkan and Western Maharashtra. Rs. 100 crore has been sanctioned in this regard."
He added, "This includes 52 crore for temporary restoration and 48 crore for permanent restoration."
The Minister also said Vashishti Bridge near Chiplun on Mumbai-Goa Highway, which was badly damaged, has been restored within 72 hours for traffic. And interruptions at Parshuram Ghat, Karul Ghat, Amba Ghat have also been cleared. The temporary restoration work has been initiated, and permanent restoration work will also be taken on priority.
