Datsun redi-GO Launched in Nepal

- The Redi GO was launched in India in June, 2016
- The hatchback's price in Nepal starts at NPR 1.39 million
- It retains the India-spec model's engine specs
Nissan's low-cost car brand Datsun launched its entry-level hatchback in India in June 2016 and now the car has made its way to Nepal. Datsun's official dealer in the country, Pioneer Moto Corp, announced the RediGO's launch on Tuesday. The car, priced between NPR 1.39 million and NPR 1.84 million, aims to strengthen the brand's presence. The company, in a press release, said, "Redi-Go suits Nepal's road condition and focuses on three aspects of riders-fun, freedom and confidence."
On the occasion of the Datsun redi-GO's launch in Nepal, Sandeep Sharda, Managing Director, Pioneer Moto Corp., said, "The Redi-Go aims to redefine the entry level car segment with its unique offering that combines the roominess, best in-class ground clearance and sheer fun of a crossover with the zippy driving and fuel efficiency of an affordable compact hatchback."

Datsun's 'urban crossover' is based on the redi-GO concept that made its debut at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. It measures 3,429mm in length, 1,560mm in width, 1,541mm in height, and sports a wheelbase of 2,348mm. The RediGO also gets a segment-leading ground clearance of 185mm that is further complemented by its 'Yukan' design that comprises a tallboy stance, short bonnet, hexagonal grille, a high-mounted rear windscreen, and boomerang-shaped tail-lamps. The Datsun redi-GO in India comes powered by a 799cc iSAT (Intelligent Spark Automated Technology) petrol engine that produces 53bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. For transmission, it gets a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Nepal-spec RediGO retains the same specs and delivers a fuel-economy of 25.17Km/l.
The hatchback has received an impressive response in India - Datsun has already received over 10,000 orders for the redi-GO here. The automaker will also introduce an AMT variant in the car's line-up here by the end of this year.
