Ducati SuperSport Bike Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 12.08 Lakh

- The Supersport comes in 2 variants - Standard and S trim
- Bookings have begun across Ducati dealerships for a token of Rs. 1 lakh
- The Ducati SuperSport sits just below the 959 Panigale
Ducati India has introduced a new model in its line-up, the Ducati SuperSport, with prices starting at Rs. 12.08 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ducati SuperSport bike has been launched in two variants - a standard variant and a high-spec S variant. The difference is in the suspension systems, and the S variant gets a standard bi-directional quickshifter. The standard Ducati SuperSport is priced at Rs. 12.08 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Ducati SuperSport S is priced at Rs. 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom). For now both the models will be available only in Ducati Red colour, while the SuperSport S will also get the Star White Silk colour option, but that will be available only from November 2017. Ducati has already started accepting bookings for the new bike and deliveries will begin from today.

Ducati Supersport shares its engine with the Multistrada 950

The Ducati SuperSport gets a new steel trellis frame but the engine is sourced from the Multistrada 950, the 937 cc L-twin makes over 110 bhp of power and 93 Nm of peak torque. In the electronics suite, the SuperSport gets ride-by-wire with three riding modes - Urban, Sport and Touring. Urban mode restricts power to 75 bhp for city use, while Sport and Touring provide the full range with different throttle response.

The Ducati SuperSport will sit just below the 959 Panigale, and is designed as an everyday street bike, with capability to take on the track as well. So, ergonomics are slightly different, with a more comfortable riding position than the Panigale. While the Panigale is more track focussed with aggressive riding position and performance, the Ducati SuperSport is positioned more as a do-it-all sort of bike, to use everyday within the city, track days and even the occasional long distance tour. In India, the Ducati SuperSport will compete with the Suzuki GSX-S1000F and even the Kawasaki Ninja 1000.
