eBikeGo Rugged Electric Moto-Scooter Attracts Over 1 Lakh Bookings

- ebikeGo Rugged attracts over 1,00,000 bookings in two months

eBikeGo, an electric mobility platform, has attracted over 1 lakh bookings for its electric moto-scooter, Rugged, within just two months of its launch. According to a statement from eBikeGo, the company has received 1,06,650 paid bookings worth Rs. 1,000 crore till date. Since the Rugged moto-scooter was launched, eBikeGo has closed master franchises of Rugged in three states, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra. Simultaneously, eBikeGo has also closed a total number of 22 dealership stores across Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai and Bihar, as well as one cost and freight agent, the company said in the statement.

"Within two months of its introduction, we at eBikeGo had an amazing reaction to our most anticipated bike, the Rugged, and closed 1 lakh+ bookings with 22 dealerships throughout the nation. This is a significant figure for any electric two wheeler company, especially in a developing country like India. It is India's most environmentally friendly, intelligent, and durable electric moto-scooter, which will change the direction of e-mobility in the country and push the frontiers of innovation in the electric bike category. We're also grateful to have had such a positive response from the investment community. We're also in advanced talks with a number of foreign private equity funds. In the next months, we estimate about 50,000 additional bookings of 'Rugged' worth Rs. 500 crores" said Irfan Khan, Founder & CEO of eBikeGo.

The Rugged electric moto-scooter comes with a long list of smart features
According to eBikeGo, brands like BigBasket, Amazon, Delhivery, Zomato and other big food delivery and retail companies have expressed interest in the Rugged electric moto-scooter, and have signed on as significant B2B clients. In the two months since the launch of Rugged, eBikeGo has also collaborated with mBnk, a physical financial services marketplace, to launch Rugged in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. According to eBikeGo, Tier II and rural areas contribute to about 67 per cent of the total bookings of eBikeGo.

The Rugged electric moto-scooter has been developed in collaboration with Boom Motors
During the festive season, eBikeGo expects about 50,000 more bookings worth Rs. 500 crore in the coming months. eBikeGo is releasing Rugged in four new hues for Diwali, Red, Blue, Black and Rugged Special Edition. According to the company, eBikeGo has a number of new states in mind for the Rugged franchise, with ten more states in the works, including Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi. For Rugged reservations, eBikeGo is also establishing a referral program in which both the referrer and the referee will receive Rs. 1,000 discount for each reference. If they recommend 100 or more individuals, consumers can get the Rugged for free.
The Rugged moto-scooter is made in India, and is powered by a 3 kW motor that can achieve speeds of upto 70 kmph. It comes with a 2 x 2 kWh battery that can be replaced. The batteries offer a range of 160 km and can be charged in 3.5 hours. The Rugged has 30 litres of storage capacity and has a body made of steel, and a steel frame chassis. The Rugged has 12 smart sensors integrated in the moto-scooter, and has an advanced IoT system with 4G.
