eBikeGo Rugged Electric Moto-Scooter Launched; Prices Begin At Rs. 79,999

- eBikeGo joins hands with Boom Motors to develop Rugged electric bike
- The Rugged EV has been positioned for individual customers

Electric two-wheeler mobility platform, eBikeGo, has launched its electric moto-scooter, Rugged. The electric moto-scooter is available in two variants, G1 and G1+ with prices of Rs. 79,999 and Rs. 99,999 respectively. The Rugged electric moto-scooter has a claimed range of 160 km on a single charge, and top speed of 70 kmph, according to a statement from eBikeGo. According to eBikeGo, the price will be even lower with additional benefits from various state government subsidies. The Rugged is positioned as a smart EV, with an advanced IOT (Internet of Things) system with 4G, and other features, including two 1.9 kWh batteries which are replaceable.

The twin batteries (1.9 kWh each) can be charged in just 3.5 hours and have a claimed range of 160 km. The Rugged electric moto-scooter features a 3 kW (4 bhp) electric motor that is capable of reaching a top speed of 70 kmph. The company is currently taking pre-bookings for the Rugged e-bike, and deliveries will begin from November 2021. The Rugged runs on 14-inch wheels, and comes with intelligent vehicle monitoring through a dedicated app, over-the-air operation, as well as navigation and vehicle location features. The bike gets leading link, anti-dive four-point adjustable front shocks, as well as four-point adjustable rear shock absorbers.

The Rugged electric moto-scooter comes with a long list of smart features
The user of Rugged can switch from one battery to the other without getting off the bike, and comes with an advanced two-wheeler IOT system. Rugged features a cradle chassis with steel on the outside. The electric moto-scooter will be manufactured in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in conjunction with Boom Motors. The company intends to reach a production capacity of 1 lakh vehicles soon. In the coming months, the company intends to launch more than 3,000 charging stations. The Rugged comes with a warranty of 7 years on the chassis, and 3 years overall warranty. The warranty includes 20,000 km standard warranty for the vehicle, battery and charger, and extended warranty is also available.
