F1: Hamilton Tops Time Charts during FP1 and FP2 Sessions of the Hungarian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton was the fastest man on the track during both the FP1 and FP2 sessions of the Hungarian Grand Prix. He beat his German team mate Nico Rosberg to go on and set the fastest times in both sessions.
Hamilton set the fastest lap of 1:25.814 to beat Rosberg by 0.183s during the FP1 session. Rosberg was on the track for a total of 31 laps which goes to show the commitment of Mercedes to avoid any issues due to the lack of FRIC suspension at the bumpy Hungaroring.
Yet again it was a Ferrari that posed some sort of threat to the two Mercedes but it wasn't Fernando Alonso behind the wheel, rather his team mate Kimi Raikkonen, as he went third fastest by setting a time of 1:26.421. Alonso was fourth ahead of Vettel, Magnussen and Jean-Eric Vergne.
Ricciardo was eight and was troubled by some reliability issues which saw him complete just 15 laps. It was Jenson Button and Felipe Massa who rounded out the top ten as Williams appeared to be struggling on the high-downforce circuit.
Hamilton extended his lead in during the FP2 session as he set the fastest time of 1:24.482s on the soft tyre compound beating Rosberg by almost a quarter of a second. Rosberg remained second but it was Sebastian Vettel who improved on his time and moved in to third place by setting a fastest lap of 1:25.111s ahead of Fernando Alonso's Ferrari.
It was Kevin Magnussen who split the two Ferraris as Kimi Raikkonen ensured the team had another encouraging Friday as he finished sixth quickest. Daniel Ricciardo was seventh quickest ahead of Valtteri Bottas, Jenson Button and Felipe Massa.
While Williams posed a huge threat to Mercedes in Austria and Germany, the competitive edge lacked in Hungary. Massa spun at the chicane at Turn 6, ruining his tyres and heading back to the garage. Romain Grosjean's Lotus also suffered from reliability issues during FP2 as a cooling system leak limited his running to a total of 14 laps.
Come tomorrow, we will see how the FP3 and Qualifying session goes about and we will get you the latest updates here. So, stay tuned!
