Frankfurt 2017: BMW iVision Dynamics Concept Sedan Unveiled

The theme of the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show is very clear - electric mobility. And not to be left behind, BMW has showcased a brand new concept electric sedan called the BMW iVision Dynamics. The new sedan is all-electric and will be launched as a part of the brand's 'i' sub-brand that concentrates only on electric mobility solutions. The new iVision Dynamics will go into production soon and will be slotted in between the i3s hatchback and the i8 hybrid sports car and will most likely be called the BMW i5. Harold Kruger, CEO and Chairman - BMW also outlined the electric mobility plans for German automaker the near future.

According to Harold Kruger, BMW will launch 25 electrified models by 2025, 12 of which will be all-electric cars or utility vehicles. BMW also made it a point to mention how their engineers have never fitted any cheating devices in any of their cars and how BMW already had more electrified vehicles on the road in the present day and age than any other established competitor.

Coming back to the BMW iVision Dynamics Concept, the electric car is a 4-door Gran Coupe that will have a range of 600 kms. The sleek sedan will get from 0-100 kmph in just 4 seconds and on to a top speed of over 200 kmph. The concept car takes inspiration from the BMW Concept Next that debuted last year and according to sources will stay true to this design when it makes it to production in the near future.

Expect the production version of the BMW iVision Dynamics Concept, likely to be called the BMW i5 to take on the likes of the Tesla Model S and electrified cars from the likes of the Mercedes-Benz and Audi when it does make it to production.
