Geneva Motor Show 2018: Lexus UX Teaser Reveals Exterior Design

Though you see most of the car in this one, Lexus still terms this as a teaser image. What we get a look at though is most of the exterior design, but Lexus has managed to also throw in a shot of the cabin which gives us a closer look into the multi-layered dashboard design. The Lexus UX adopts the company 's design language which is why, up front, you see the massive spindle grille. The square wheel arches give it that aggressive stance and the UX is not your conventional looker in terms of appearance.

The Lexus UX gets the spindle grille which gives it the family look
It's smaller than the NX and will slot below it but unlike the NX, the UX gets DRLs that have been incorporated into the headlights. This means that there is room that has been created on the front bumper and this sees a pair of vertical trim pieces which house the fog lights at the bottom. The photos are of the UX 250h in the F Sport specification and though there are no pictures of the rear of the car, we've already seen it in the teaser image the company provided a week ago. From that image, we can say that the car has remained faithful to the concept Lexus showcased at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

The cabin of the UX is modern and expect it to be feature rich too
Interestingly, we get a sneak peek into the cabin and it's as modern as it comes. There's a fully digital instrument cluster and the steering wheel, though only partly visible, gets a whole bunch of buttons and there are paddle shifters that we can spot too. We can also spot a dual-zone climate control and the blue start/stop button. The electronic parking brake is lower down the console, and to the right of the gear lever is the touchpad accompanied by a few buttons.
We'll first see the car at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show on March 6 but it is likely to come to India too. Considering the company has launched the NX here already, bringing the UX to India would be a no-brainer. However, it's likely that Lexus India might think of setting up assembly for the UX considering that the SUV plays a big role in the larger volume segment.
