Hero MotoCorp Teases New Off-Road Motorcycle; Debut At EICMA 2017

- The new Hero off-roader is rumoured to be a 200 cc offering
- The new Hero offering is expected to go on sale by next year or in 2019
- The new Hero off-road bike will make its debut on November 7
After bringing the much appreciated Impulse which did poor numbers, a more powerful off-roader from Hero MotoCorp has been long awaited and certainly one enthusiasts have been looking forward to. It now seems the prayers have been answered as the Indian two-wheeler giant has teased an off-road motorcycle that will be revealed at the upcoming EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan Italy. The trade fair is one of the biggest events for motorcycles and Hero has chosen the venue to reveal its all-new offering on November 7.
Having concentrated on the commuter segment for a while now, the new offering from Hero MotoCorp is refreshing and is also likely a result of the company's learnings from its rally team. While the teaser revealed on Hero's Instagram handle has little to reveal, we do get to see few details like spoke wheels, front disc brake and a raised beak-like front fender. The shadow further reveals an upright and sleek looking headlamp unit on the motorcycle.
While details aren't out yet, it is possible that Hero MotoCorp will be revealing a concept or early prototype of its motorcycle at EICMA before the production version makes its debut as early as next year or in 2019. Speculations suggest that the bike could use a 200 cc single-cylinder engine. It will also be interesting to see if Hero adopts an all-new name for the offering or continues to use the Impulse moniker.
That said, we surely are excited to see what Hero MotoCorp has in store at EICMA. We are also likely to get a larger glimpse in Hero's plans for the future and its big motorcycle aspirations. This certainly makes this year's EICMA something to watch out for, more so, since Royal Enfield's middleweight contender will also be making its debut at the show.
