Honda City CVT Recalled in India

Honda has issued a recall for the City sedan in India. A part of the carmaker's "recall campaign in several regions globally", the recall affects 3,879 units of CVT variants of the Honda City manufactured from February, 14 to November, 14. The procedure has been initiated to allow Honda to update the software that manages the continuously variable transmission (CVT) on the affected units of the Honda City. The CVT control software will be updated to optimize the Hydraulic Pressure applied to the CVT.

Starting October 24, 2015, the aforementioned software update will be done at Honda dealerships across India at no cost to the customers. Honda Cars India will get in touch with the affected customers directly. Furthermore, customers can also visit the company's official website to check if their car is covered under this recall.

The Honda City CVT is powered by a 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC petrol unit that puts out 117bhp and a maximum torque of 145Nm. The Honda City CVT's mileage is rated at 18Km/l.
