Hyundai Creta Sport Unveiled In Brazil; Will It Come To India?

- The Hyundai Creta Sport has been designed for the Brazilian market
- The new Hyundai Creta Sport comes cosmetic updates and new features
- The Hyundai Creta Sport is not likely to come to India
Hyundai Motor Brazil has unveiled a sportier version of the company's popular compact SUV Creta. Christened Hyundai Creta Sport, this new iteration of the SUV comes with a bunch of cosmetic updates and some new features that enhance its sporty character. Based on the 2017 Hyundai Creta facelift, which was introduced in Brazil in December 2016, the new Hyundai Creta Sport will go on sale in the Brazilian market around November 2017. Having said that, the car will not be coming to India and has been built for Brazil only.
Now, visually, the new Hyundai Creta Sport comes with a lot of black treatment, especially in the front. The SUV comes with a glossy black cascading grille and a similar glossy black slat for the front bumper along with black cladding. The Creta Sport also gets glossy black outside rear-view mirror with integrated turn signal lights, black roof rails and new sporty 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with silver and black two-tone treatment. The SUV also gets a larger roof-mounted spoiler at the back with integrated brake lights, black shark fin antenna, and a revised rear bumper and more plastic cladding and a rear diffuser.

Hyundai has also redesigned the cabin of the new Creta Sport, which now comes with an all-black interior along with some additional details like new black leather and fabric seats and a new all-black headliner as well. The Hyundai Creta has also introduced a new 7-inch multimedia infotainment system equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Under the hood, the Hyundai Creta Sport will continue to use the same powertrain that the Brazilian spec Creta gets and more details regarding the features and specifications will be revealed later.

Now considering Hyundai is still working on a Creta facelift for India, as we said earlier, chances of this new Creta Sport coming to our shores are next to none. Having said that, the Creta is long overdue for an update, and we think Hyundai should consider speeding up the process, especially with new rivals like the Jeep Compass and the upcoming Renault Captur in the market.
