Infiniti To Go All-Electric From 2021

- It expects more than half its global sales to be of EVs by 2025
- The first electric vehicle will debut in 2021
- Infiniti is testing Nissan's e-Power technology to produce EVs
Infiniti Motor Company will introduce new vehicles with electrified powertrains from 2021, according to Nissan Chief Executive Officer Hiroto Saikawa, speaking at the Automotive News World Congress. A mix of pure electric vehicles (EV) and e-Power vehicles will be offered, demonstrating the full range of ultra-low emission vehicle technology available to Infiniti as the premium brand within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. As a result of this, Infiniti expects more than half its global sales to be comprised of electric vehicles by 2025, with the first EV to debut in 2021.

Customers can expect vehicles like the Q Inspiration concept shown in Detroit, with a whole new level of electrified driving performance as an evolution of Infiniti's current powertrains. The company's e-Power technology features a small petrol engine that charges a high-output battery, eliminating the need for an external charging source and providing the convenience of refueling with gasoline while offering the same driving experience as a pure EV.
