Flipkart, Magenta Mobility Announce Partnership For Last Mile Delivery In Delhi-NCR
- Magenta to operate 400 electric cargo vehicles for Flipkart in Delhi-NCR
- Magenta plans to have 500 EVs operating in Delhi-NCR by year end
- Both companies already collaborate for electric delivery vehicles in Bengaluru
E-commerce giant Flipkart, has partnered with electric mobility firm Magenta Mobility to electrify its last mile delivery fleet. Under the partnership, Flipkart will deploy 400 of Magenta’s electric cargo vehicles for deliveries across Delhi-NCR. The partnership also marks the formal entry of Magenta Mobility to the National Capital Area.
Speaking on the partnership, Maxson Lewis, Founder, and Managing Director, Magenta Mobility said, “We are pleased to see Flipkart's rapid adoption of EVs in its fleet. With our association with Flipkart, we are committed to providing a clean, sustainable, and affordable last-mile delivery solution across the country.”
The two companies had previously partnered to utilise electric vehicles for last mile delivery services in Bengaluru. The firm currently plans to have 500 electric cargo vehicles plying in the National Capital Region by the end of the year.
Aside from Delhi-NCR, Magenta Mobility currently operates a fleet of over 500 electric cargo vehicles across Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai for clients spanning e-commerce, grocery delivery, FMCG, food & pharmaceuticals sectors. The company says its fleet has covered over 1 million kilometres or the equivalent to 150 metric tons of CO2.
The range of vehicles available to Flipkart will include the new Mahindra Zor Grand along with EVs for select other manufacturers. The e-commerce platform is eyeing to operate a fleet of over 25,000 EVs in a bid to transition to 100% electric mobility by 2030.
