Japan Mobility Show 2025: Mitsubishi Elevance Concept Could Be The Future Pajero

- Previews the future generation of off-road Mitsubishi
- Has integrated co-passenger AI that suggests personalized destination
- Also showcased is the new Delica Mini and a super height-wagon kei-car
Mitsubishi has arrived at the Tokyo Motor Show 2025 with the Elevance Concept that previews a future full-size SUV that could be a spiritual successor to the Pajero. The Elevance Concept has a quad-motor powertrain, which is fed through a plug-in hybrid unit, as there’s also a petrol engine onboard.
That’s not the craziest part. The Elevance Concept has three rows with seating for six. That’s pretty rational, right? But what’s not is that there’s also a kitchen and shower inside the cabin for those outdoorsy kinds who want their 4x4s to take them to places. With a capsule-style cabin, it is enveloped by a rib-bone frame body structure. There are suicidal doors, swivelling front seats, and a matching large trailer at the back.

On the inside, there’s an LCD screen embedded into the steering wheel. The entire dashboard is also a screen. But breaking the rational scheme of things is the AI co-driver that suggests personalised destinations depending on the individual lifestyles and preferences. It can analyse surrounding conditions and vehicle status in real time, recommending optimal drive modes based on road conditions detected by the sensors.
Although it's more of a design study, the now-discontinued Pajero nameplate could be successfully revived if only it looked something as outrageous as this.
