KTM 200 Duke With Side Mounted Exhaust Spotted In Indonesia

- The KTM 200 Duke with the new exhaust was shown at Indonesia Motor Show
- The Indonesian spec 200 Duke is manufactured in India itself
- India might get the updated Duke 200 sometime in future
The KTM 200 Duke has been spotted with a side-mounted exhaust in Indonesia, which seems to be borrowed from its bigger sibling, the KTM 390 Duke. Also, the new 200 Duke gets catalytic converter in the exhaust system as well. The bike was showcased at the ongoing Indonesian Motor Show. Also, the Indonesian spec bike weighs 4.5 kg less than the Indian spec bike which is thanks to larger alloys. The KTMs sold in Indonesia are manufactured here in India itself. The company says that the side-mounted exhaust offers a deeper, bass-laden exhaust note along with minimal improvements in power delivery as well. Currently, KTM is offering the side-mounted exhaust as an accessory instead of it being a standard fitment. The Indonesian spec model also gets a single-channel ABS which is a miss on the Indian spec model.
Apart from that, the bike remains the same more or less. It continues to get the 199 cc single-cylinder motor which makes 24.65 bhp and churns out peak torque of 19 Nm. Power to the rear wheel is transferred via a six-speed manual transmission. It gets a 280 mm disc up front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The bike weighs in at 137 kg, which makes for excellent power to weight ratio.
In all probability, the updated 200 Duke will start selling in Indonesia and other Asian markets from this year itself. We could possibly get the updated 200 Duke in India once the BS VI emission norms set in by April 2020. The KTM 200 Duke rivals the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
