Zypp Electric, India's electric vehicle-based last-mile delivery start-up has announced a six-fold increase in annual revenue, as compared to the last financial year. According to Zypp Electric, the company has hired more than 1100 personnel during the pandemic, including riders, executives and managers in various positions, and top management positions across 10 cities where it operates in. The new hires have been in three senior management positions, 19 managers in various positions, 45 executives and 1000 riders spread across various cities. The company currently has annual recurring revenue (ARR) of $12 million.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant influence on all our lives. The epidemic has also significantly accelerated our company's digital transition, as well as an outsized recruiting of individuals with new-age talents. During the epidemic, several companies laid off their staff, but we gave opportunity to 1100 people to help them get through these difficult times. With great revenue growth and an unparalleled war for talent, we plan to resurrect the EV last-mile delivery tech industry. In addition to taking all reasonable precautions to secure our employees' safety, we must also ensure their emotional and mental well-being during these very challenging times. The start-up has begun operations in Bengaluru and Pune with 100 riders in each city. The company now has operations across 10 cities.

Zypp Electric is India's leading last-mile delivery EV startup, founded in 2017 with a mission to make India carbon-free by using electric scooters. The company currently delivers groceries, medicines, food, packages from point A to point B through their fully automated IoT and AI-enabled scooters which are low on maintenance and high on performance. The tech tracks batteries that can be replaced at Zypp swapping stations which are installed at key touch-points. Zypp Electric currently operates in New Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurugram, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru. The company plans to hire 250 more employees by the end of this financial year.
