- The US-spec model will be manufactured at Ford's facility in Chennai
- Ford has manufactured the EcoSport in India since 2013
The 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift AWD was the biggest highlight at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and make things more interesting, Ford has announced that the new model will be manufactured in India. The car will be produced in Ford India's Chennai plant and will be exported from here. The new EcoSport, for the first time, will get an all-wheel-drive system as well, sadly though, initially it will be available only in the US market. The India-bound EcoSport facelift, however, will get an all-new and more powerful 1.5-litre petrol engine from the company's new engine line-up, so we are happy on that front. The EcoSport facelift will make it's India debut on October 29, followed by the launch later.

Speaking to the newspaper, Michael O'Brien, Ford Marketing Manager for SUVs, said, "We build EcoSport in six locations around the globe. We sell it in 100 markets, and so, just like we make Explorers and export from here into other global markets, we are going to export EcoSport from Asia Pacific, and we are going to sell it here in the US."
