Mahindra Scorpio Facelift Spotted Testing Again: Launch Later This Year

- The Mahindra Scorpio facelift will come with considerable cosmetic change
- The Scorpio facelift will also get a more efficient 6-speed auto gearbox
- A new touchscreen system with Android Auto will also be offered
The Mahindra Scorpio is all set to receive a facelift in India this year and a test mule of the updated SUV was recently spotted again. We shared a spy image of a partially camouflaged front of the Scorpio facelift a couple of months ago and now we have images of the rear as well. The 2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift will come with a few cosmetic updates, a restyled interior and some feature upgrades as well. The 2017 Scorpio facelift will also get a more efficient 6-speed auto gearbox, while the powertrain options are expected to remain unchanged.

Mahindra Scorpio Facelift rear comes with some minor changes
Based on the new spy images of the Mahindra Scorpio facelift, we can say that the changes made to the exterior of the car will be pretty minimal, especially the rear portion. While Mahindra has camouflaged the tailgate and the rear bumper, which indicates they might receive some restyling, the rest of the rear section is identical to the outgoing model. The SUV comes with the same roof-mounted spoiler, vertically stacked twin-pod taillamps, which are all-red now instead of clear ones, and plastic cladding on either side of the rear windshield, which are a bit more embossed now.
The side portion hardly seems to have received any kind of update apart from the revised set of alloy wheels. Also, while the front of the Scorpio facelift is not visible here, based on the previously spotted test mule the updated model will come with a redesigned front grille, new bumper and revised headlamps among other minor styling touches.

Mahindra Scorpio Facelift will come with a new set of alloys
The cabin will come with a host of changes like a slightly reworked dashboard that will now accommodate an updated infotainment system. The unit will be the same as that seen on the Mahindra XUV500 that supports Android Auto, EcoSense, Connected Apps and the Emergency-Call feature that connects you to the listed emergency contact, in case of an accident. New upholstery and better safety features will also be part of the package.
Under the hood, the 2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift will continue to be powered by the tried and tested 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that churns out a maximum of 120 bhp and develops a peak torque of 280 Nm. While a 5-speed manual gearbox will come as standard, Mahindra will also offer an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic torque converter, which currently does duty on the XUV500.
