With the festive season on the horizon, the slew of limited edition/special edition models is all set to begin. One of the first carmakers to introduce special edition offerings, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been introduced across the country. Dealers have confirmed about the availability of the new model that gets additional features on the VXi and ZXi trims and is priced at a premium of about Rs. 12,000 over the standard variants. The Celerio range starts at Rs. 4.03 lakh for the base LXi, going up to Rs. 5.23 lakh for the range-topping ZXi AMT (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio Limited Edition gets a host of cosmetic upgrades including new body graphics, side moldings and door visors. You also get chrome accents around the fog lamps, head lamps, windows, tailgate and lights. Inside, the cabin has been spruced up with new dual-tone seat covers along with a matching steering cover. There is also a new tissue box as part of the kit. The more premium features though include rear parking sensors and ambient lighting in the footwells on the limited edition Celerio.

There are no changes under the hood though, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio continues to use the same tried and tested 1-litre three-cylinder petrol engine tuned to produce 67 bhp of power and 90 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes paired to a 5-speed manual as well as the optional Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). In fact, the Celerio was the first car to get an AMT unit in India, which Maruti calls Auto Gear Shift (AGS) before the technology made its way to several other cars in the Indian auto market.

The Celerio is also offered in an optional CNG kit equipped variant as well in select cities, where the fuel is available. With respect to fuel economy, the Maruti hatchback returns an ARAI certified efficiency of 20.36 kmpl on the petrol and 31.79 kmpl on the CNG version.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is a popular seller for the automaker, and has made it to the top 10 selling cars list time and again, only to be dropped due to Maruti's other popular offerings. That said, the car continues to sell well over 6000 units every month. Competing with the likes of the Renault Kwid 1.0, Hyundai Eon, Tata Tiago and the newly launched Datsun redi-GO, the limited edition version is expected to add some excitement to the Celerio this festive season.
