Maruti Suzuki Delivers 30,000 Cars On Dhanteras; Hyundai 15,153 Units

- Maruti Suzuki has sold over 1 lakh units of the Baleno since its launch
- Maruti Suzuki still has a backlog of 50,000 Vitara Brezzas
- This has been the best Dhanteras for Hyundai in the last two years
The festive season has been a good one for car manufacturers and an exceptional one for a selct few. The industry is already abuzz with new car launches this month and the customers too are responding to this move.
(Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza)Maruti Suzuki is expected to deliver 30,000 vehicles on Dhanteras and this 20 per cent more than what it did last year. Maruti Suzuki's success story in India continues and this has been possible only because of the company's strong product strategy. This year however, the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza have really helped the company take a giant leap when compared to its competitors.
(Maruti Suzuki Baleno)Maruti Suzuki has sold over 1 lakh units of the Baleno hatchback in India ever since the launch of the car in October 2015 and over 50,000 unit of the Vitara Brezza that went on sale in March 2016. According to R C Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India, every car in Maruti's lineup is right now adding to the company's profits and that is mainly because the capacity utilisation was over 100 per cent. That said the company still has a backlog of about 50,000 units of the Vitara Brezza, which the company hopes to deliver by the end of this year.
(Hyundai Elantra)In fact it's not just Maruti Suzuki basking in the glory of the festive season. Even Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) also reported good sales on Dhanteras.
"This Dhanteras, the customers have done heightened purchases with deliveries of 15,153 Hyundai cars, growth of 26 per cent over last year," HMIL Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing Rakesh Srivastava told PTI. He further said: "We expect to have 50,000-plus deliveries for the full month, making this festival season as the best in the last couple of years."
The festive season has certainly helped in adding a spring in the step of most manufacturers and we're hoping this trend continues.
