MG Motor India Converts Hector Plus SUV Into A COVID-19 Mobile Testing Unit

- MG Motor donates a Hector Plus COVID-19 mobile testing unit in Gujarat
- Will be used by healthcare professionals for RTPCR test sample collection
- It will also be used to execute vaccination drive in remote areas
MG Motor India has converted its Hector Plus SUV into a COVID-19 mobile testing unit to support testing and other healthcare services in Gujarat. The vehicle will be used as Dhanvantari Rath for Covid-19 vaccination, testing, and other mobile healthcare services in the state. The first unit was handed over to Executive Magistrate & Mamlatdar of Halol. The COVID-19 mobile testing unit will be used by healthcare professionals for RT-PCR test sample collection at affected locations. It will also be employed by healthcare professionals to execute the vaccination drive in remote areas.

The vehicle will be used as Dhanvantari Rath for Covid-19 vaccination, testing, and other mobile healthcare services in Gujarat.
Rajeev Chaba, President & MD, MG Motor India said, "Mobile health services are the need of the hour as the nation recovers from the pandemic and inline remains our focus at MG towards serving the communities in the best manner possible through the MG Sewa initiative. As part of the current initiative, the first Hector Plus mobile testing unit donated will be used for supporting healthcare services in the region."
Under its community service umbrella, MG Sewa, the carmaker is undertaking various initiatives especially during the second wave of COVID-19, including MG Healthline for its customers for providing medical assistance. In April 2021, the company partnered with Devnandan Gases in Gujarat to ramp up the oxygen production by 36 per cent at one of the latter's plants in Vadodara within a month. MG recently offered 200 beds for Covid-19 patients in Gurugram along with online platform Credihealth and raised funds and distributed biodegradable bedsheets to people affected by COVID-19 in Pune.

The COVID-19 mobile testing unit will also be employed by healthcare professionals to execute the vaccination drive in remote areas.

The company has also provided retrofitted Hector Ambulances that are custom-built at MG's Halol plant in Gujarat. Several of these ambulances are already doing duty in Gujarat and Maharashtra to serve the affected in case of an emergency.
