New BMW X1 Teased Ahead Of Global Debut

BMW Group is preparing for the global debut of the new BMW X1 SUV, and ahead of its slated premiere, a BMW dealer from France previewed the silhouette, revealing the outline of the crossover SUV. The new BMW X1, which will be revealed at the end of this year, and launched early next year, will come with comprehensive updates to its exterior, interior, features, as well updated powertrains. Additionally, the 2023 BMW X1 will join its electrified sibling, the BMW iX1 in its global portfolio. India is also expected to receive the new BMW X1 later next year, as it takes on the Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Audi Q2 in the Indian premium compact SUV market.

The new BMW X1 will feature several design changes to make it more attractive, and modern. These would include stronger character lines, accentuating its muscular stance from the large kidney grille flanked by sleek LED headlamps & DRLs. The 2023 BMW X1 will also feature new alloy wheels although it will be shod with the same tyres as earlier. Reports also suggest that the new BMW X1 will sport a few design elements from its elder sibling, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, to make it sharper & bolder than before. Inside, expect the new BMW X1 to be equipped with the latest generation of the touchscreen infotainment system, as well as a few other convenience features to make it more appealing for the younger buyer.

The heart, apart from the electrified iX1, will come with several powertrain options. There is likely to be 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that will develop 304 bhp, close to the power figures of the BMW M2 in its range-topping avatar. Also, expect a plug-in hybrid version of the BMW X1, but details for the same would be revealed closer to its global debut. At present, the BMW X1 in India is priced at Rs. 41.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
