Official: 2014 Volkswagen Polo Facelift Coming on July 15

There had been quite a lot of speculations about the new 2014 Volkswagen Polo facelift's launch. The speculations were laid to rest when the German auto maker announced that it will launch the all new 2014 Polo facelift in India on July 15, 2014. The Volkswagen Polo facelift will sport a design inspired by its European version, and will get features like new front and rear bumpers, redesigned headlights, grille with single chrome strip, revised tail-lights with new detailing and new exterior colour options.
Moving on to the car's performance versions, it was only in 2013 that Volkswagen had first introduced the sportier Polo GT line-up in India, and is now ready to bring in their facelifts too. The new Polo GT TSI and GT TDI are expected to arrive some time later this year. The new GT TDI will ditch the current 1.6L TDI diesel engine, and sport a 1.5L TDI power-unit instead. This motor will be tuned to produce more power and torque, though the manual transmission will remain the same. The GT TSI will share the 1.2L TSI turbo petrol engine with its predecessor, but will be mated to a new 7-speed DSG (Dual-clutch automatic).
Inside, the cabin sports a new audio system with Bluetooth telephony and steering-mounted audio controls, a 3-spoke steering wheel, new AC vents and climate control. All these exterior and interior tweaks will be incorporated in the Polo's new GT variants as well. The new Polo will be equipped with a new 1.5L diesel engine, which complies with the taxation norms, and claims to be more frugal than the previous 1.6L engine. Whereas the hatchback's petrol variant will continue to house the same 1.2L engine under the hood, which is expected to be tuned for better fuel efficiency.
