Over 20 Million Honda Bikes and Scooters Sold in India Till Now

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today announced that it has crossed 20 million sales mark in the country. The company rolled out its 20 millionth vehicle last week. Though all the vehicle have done well for the company, the Activa and CB Shine contribute the most in the total sales volume. Both the vehicles are leading their segments, currently.
Mr. Keita Muramatsu - President & CEO said, "We are deeply humbled by the faith and trust reposed in the brand by our 20 million happy customers and we will strive to achieve even higher benchmarks in customer satisfaction. We thank our valued customers, business partners, associates, and all my colleagues at Honda for this remarkable feat. We will continue our endeavour to bring many more million smiles by introducing more advanced products & services across all segments".
The company currently that holds 55% market market share in the automatic scooter segment, is planning to further strengthen its presence in the segment. To achieve this, the company has already announced its fourth plant which will be the world's largest scooter manufacturing facility. The plant is being set up at Vithalapur, in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat. Spread across 80 acres, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 million units that will take HMSI's annual production capacity to 5.8 million units.
