Piaggio Commences Deliveries Of The Aprilia SR 150 Scooter In India

- Aprilia SR 150 is priced at Rs. 65,000 (Ex-showroom, Pune)
- The scooter will be retailed via the Vespa showrooms across India
- The Aprilia SR 150 gets 90% localisation at the Baramati plant
As of now, the deliveries of the SR 150 have started in limited cities like - Pune, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kerala and Chennai and will subsequently move to other parts of the country as well. Piaggio currently manufactures the Aprilia SR 150 at its plant in Baramati, Maharashtra. In fact, it is built on the same assembly line as the Vespa scooters and will be retailed via Piaggio's Vespa showrooms across India. The get a better hold of the market, the SR 150 is being sold at a competitive introductory price of Rs. 65,000 (ex-showroom, Pune).
In the official statement released by the company, Piaggio says that the bookings for the Aprilia SR 150 are still going strong. In fact, early this year, the company entered into a special partnership with online retail firm Paytm, which has not only enabled consumers to book the bike online but has also played a major role in increasing the sales for the Aprilia SR 150.

This is the first bike from the Aprilia stable that has been designed for the India market and is being manufactured locally. With the Aprilia SR 150, patrons can now experience the racing heritage of the brand on Indian roads. Coming to the scooter itself, the Aprilia SR 150 is available in matt black and white colour with sporty read graphics and a dual tone red-black seat on both options. The bike gets large black 14-inch alloy wheels with five spokes show off decisive and sporty design drawn from Aprilia racing bikes. The scooter is powered by the same 150cc motor that powers the Vespa and churns out a maximum of 11.4bhp and develops a peak torque of 11.5Nm. The transmission duties are handled by a CVT unit.
