The Renault Triber MPV turned out to be a gamechanger in the sub 4-metre segment. The cleverly packaged offering can decently fit seven people, packs all the essential features and is fairly comfortable over long distances. The MPV also ensures there are a variety of a cargo storage options with its flexible seating system. The small but frugal engine also makes for lower fuel bills. There's lots to like about the Renault Triber and is certainly a bargain in the used car segment. It's relevant, easy to own in the city and now comes with the option of an automatic too. If you are planning to bring home a used Renault Triber anytime soon, here are five things to know.
1. The Renault Triber gets a longer wheelbase than the Duster, maximising cabin space for the occupants. The short overhangs make it easy to park, while the tallboy stance improves cabin space with all three rows offering ample headroom.
2. There are plenty of small storage options in the car including two gloveboxes, big bottle holders as well as a two-deck storage on the front console. There's also a cooled storage box between the front seats. The MPV further enhances comfort with pillar mounted AC vents the rear just for both, recline and reach. The touchscreen infotainment system gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
3. The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine on the Renault Triber makes about 70 bhp. The engine isn't the most spirited though does struggle to climb gradients with a full load. However, it does a decent job in the city and can cruise with ease around 80 kmph on the highway.
4. Some examples of the Triber are prone to rusting and do look out for loosened interior lining, rubber beading, and rusted bolts. Some customers also the air conditioning not cooling the cabin evenly. Make sure to get the vehicle inspected for smaller niggles.
5. Examples of used Renault Triber from 2019 with as low as 15,000 km will cost you about Rs. 6.5 lakh in the pre-owned car market. In comparison, the automatic examples from 2021 are priced around Rs. 8 lakh onwards.
