Porsche Macan R4 Launched In India; Priced At Rs. 76.84 Lakh

- This is Porsche's most affordable SUV in India
- The R4 is the fourth model in the Macan line-up
- The Jaguar F-Pace is slightly affordable compared to the Macan R4's price
Porsche dealerships had already started bookings of the car in the country at a booking amount of Rs. 10 lakh. The Macan R4 is the least expensive Porsche SUV you can get your hands on and the decision to bring this one comes closely after Jaguar launched the F-Pace in India. Yes, the Porsche is more expensive than the Jaguar as the base spec F-Pace comes priced at Rs. 72.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), but clearly for those wanting to wake up to a Porsche in their garage, there's no way, they'll pass on such an opportunity considering that the price difference is marginal.
Benefiting from lower custom duties on cars with an engine capacity below two litres, Porsche has been able to price this car aggressively and this 2.0-litre, 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine churns out a good 248bhp and develops 370Nm of torque. Porsche claims the Macan R4 can go from 0-100km/h in just 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 229kmph.
Transmission duties will be handled by a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK auto box, which transfers the power to all four wheels. What comes as part of standard equipment is Porsche's air suspension with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) and this certainly gives it the edge when compared to the F-Pace because this is what makes the Macan more agile.
The Macan R4 is the 4th variant to be available Macan's portfolio. The other models include the Macan S diesel, Macan Turbo and Macan Turbo with Performance Package. The Macan R4 sits below all these variants and is the only variant to be priced below Rs. 1 crore.
