Royal Enfield Himalayan Gets New Colour Scheme

- The bike will get a new camouflage colour scheme
- We expect the price to remain the same, for the new colour
- The bike will remain the same mechanically
Royal Enfield is gearing up for 2018 in a big way. First, the Continental GT 535 was discontinued and now the Himalayan has been spotted in new shades at a stockyard. The Himalayan will get a camouflage colour theme in shades of grey and white for 2018. Till now, the bike was only available in either black or white. Apart from the new colour option, the bike will remain as it is. The Himalayan was discontinued in the middle of 2017, thanks to the ban on BS III vehicles across the country. But, the company finally did launch the fuel-injected version of the bike in September 2017.

The bike still uses the same 411 cc long-stroke engine, which is air-cooled and makes 24.5 bhp of max power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque at 4,250 rpm, with the engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Royal Enfield claims that the fuel-injected variant of the Himalayan is a touch more refined and the recurring problems with respect to quality have been taken care of. We are yet to ride the fuel-injected Himalayan and hope to do so soon.
(2018 Royal Enfield Himalayan)The Himalayan is the most affordable purpose-built adventure touring motorcycle that you can buy at the moment. Currently, the Royal Enfield Himalayan carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.68 lakh. We suspect that the new colour scheme will not carry a premium as far as pricing is concerned. Expect the Himalayan in camouflage colours to hit the roads in within the month or so.
