Spyshots of the Volkswagen sub-4m sedan reveal much about its design; up front, it sports a protracted grille and big head-lamps. Its rear comprises L-shaped tail-lamp enclosures that tend to remind one of the Volkswagen Polo. Inside, the VW Ameo is dressed in dual-tone black and beige, gets silver trim on the center console, a central infotainment touchscreen display, and a 3-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls.

As we mentioned, this Volkswagen sub-compact sedan (Ameo) will borrow its engine lineup from the VW Polo. Thus, its options will include the 1.2-litre MPI petrol and the 1.5-litre TDI diesel. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and perhaps the 7-speed DSG.

One must note, VW India invested Rs. 720 crore for the development and production of the new sub-compact sedan, which will debut at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 in February. The German carmaker will start production of its new sub-compact sedan at the Volkswagen Pune Plant in the first half of 2016.

Volkswagen Sub-Compact Sedan (Ameo) Price (Expected): Rs. 5.5 lakh - Rs. 8.5 lakh
