Volvo Trucks India Showcases Off-Road Dump Truck And Construction Tipper At Excon 2022

- Volvo Trucks India showcased two of its latest trucks at Excon 2022.

Volvo Trucks India showcased two of its latest trucks at Excon 2022. The Volvo FMX 500 8x4 off-road dump truck and Volvo FM 420 8x4 23 Cu.M construction tipper are part of the Volvo FM and FMX range of trucks, which will be used for the purpose of removal projects and in other mining applications as well as transport solutions for road construction, irrigation, and quarry operations. Both these products are fully connected with Volvo Connect with relevant information in real-time to improve operational efficiency, uptime, and productivity.

The Volvo FMX 500 8x4 off-road dump truck comes with a bodybuilder module ECU that prevents the truck from exceeding speed above 5 kmph when the dump body is in the raised position. The Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS) ensures the truck is stable even while carrying heavy payloads. The FMX 500 8x4 off-road dump truck also features a new driver cabin. It is also equipped with the latest engine management system, better gearshift programming, and a few minor design improvements in the engine to improve fuel economy. It comes with a 405-litre fuel tank. It also receives a 15 per cent increase in payload capacity.

The Volvo FM 420 8x4 23 Cu.M construction tipper is powered by a 13-litre engine that generates 418 bhp @ 1,400-1,800 rpm and peak torque of 2,100 Nm @860-1,400 rpm. The engine is tuned for an improved average vehicle speed with lower fuel consumption, while the engine management system is upgraded with several design improvements that facilitate optimal fuel efficiency.
